‘Medic Mentoring & Portfolio Careers’ is focused more on mentorship rather than coaching.
Adapted from Alred, 1998.
There is some overlap and I am trained as a coach, but my focus is on personalised mentorship, specialist portfolio development, and strategic planning.
Ie. What steps do I need to take in the next 2/3/5 years; what are the building blocks, pitfalls, easy wins, what to prioritise - an honest assessment so that you make effective use of your limited time and resources.
I have helped many professionals I have come into contact with over the years. In senior leadership it is not uncommon to deal with lawyers, planners, HR colleagues, business leaders, economists, journalists and politicians.
I can help you navigate those conversations using the experience I’ve built up over more than 2 decades.

Whom?
For doctors, I have direct experience of being an IMG, teaching as a GP Tutor, and led an organisation through genuine, warm and compassionate conversations.
I offer personalised mentorship to medics from any medical specialty, and indeed have mentored several psychiatrists (General Adult, Forensic, Old Age), a public health consultant, GPs, and others. The key is understanding how to strategically build a fulfilling, high quality and financially viable portfolio of work.

For professionals, I welcome all NHS colleagues, clinical and non-clinical commissioners, and associated professional, particularly those who have to navigate NHS politics, and are seeking fulfilment & career progression.
